Just what the world needs, another blogger.  If you have found this first, inconsequential post, maybe you have too much time on your hands.  Anyway, since you’re here, stick around.  Who knows?  Maybe this will turn out to be interesting for both of us.

I’m hoping to use this blog as a digital toy box to store lots of things I’m interested in.  I like left-brain things such as weird, fun, and useful science (mostly biology), science writing, and technology.  Right-brain stuff I’m into includes photography, digital imaging, and music (mostly old-time fiddle and banjo music).

Now I need to go learn how to blog.

Uh oh.  Looks like I first need to help my daughter with her Latin homework.
